The Crisis.
More than 8 million Syrian children are in immediate need of aid and millions have born witness to unrelenting violence from a brutal conflict that began more than 9 years ago. For these children, what’s at stake isn’t politics. It’s their future. In 2016, twin brothers Omar and Ziad Fehmi established the Keys for Syrian Kids initiative which has raised more than $83,000 total to aid Syrian children through UNICEF.

Educate a Child.
Educate a Child is a program focused on helping children in Syria who have either dropped out of school or are at risk for dropping out of school. It targets children between the ages of 5-17.  The program delivers a comprehensive and flexible education course within an environment conducive to learning during a protracted conflict situation. It accomplishes this with courses that can be administered by an untrained adult and in stable regions those implemented by the Ministry of Education. UNICEF's advantage is that it has impacted more children than any other organization and when other NGOs have left the region, UNICEF has remained.
